1) What is a silicone circlet vs. a silicone crown? How big are they?
A silicone circlet can be worn either around your head or around your neck. The circlet designs are lighter on average & refer to "the base of a crown or a coronet with or without a cap". Our silicone crowns are adorned headpieces that is shaped in a way only suitable to wear on your head, similar to royal crowns adorned with different tiers & shapes. Both are lightweight & durable but crowns present bigger on average. Size can be found listed on each item!
2) How long do custom orders take?
A custom order takes about 1-2 weeks to create before it is shipped. When you place your custom order you will be able to describe and select what colors you would like on your order. We suggest including a tail to reference or selections from the Pantone color chart. A Hollywood Mermaid Gear representative will also contact you to make sure we understand your vision and that your order goes just right.
3) How much is shipping & handling?
In the US shipping & handling is currently $10.00-$15.00. We use Priority Mail envelopes and boxes Shipping through USPS & you will receive a tracking number. If you are purchasing from outside of the US, additional shipping charges will occur to reflect your location.
4) What are your Tops Crowns and Circlets made out of?
All of HMG Crowns, Tops & Circlets are made of Dragon Skin, a skin safe Platinum Cure Silicone, the most used silicone to create silicone mermaid tails. "Soft, super-strong & stretchy, Dragon Skin is used around the world to make spectacular skin and creature effects," so its no surprise this is the material of choice for professional merfolk.
5) How do I best care for my purchase?
Each Crown/Top/Circlet is hand poured & one of a kind. Although Dragon Skin Silicone is durable, here are some instructions for best care.
-Silicone is strong & flexible, so it can be tightened in place with included cord, but do not needlessly pull or yank on the silicone itself, especially smaller detailed areas.
-Before storing, Crown/Top/Circlet & cord should be cleaned with a soap solution & fully dry. (Dawn or other GENTLE bleach-FREE dish washing soaps may be used.)
-Keep E6000 & other strong chemicals away from Crowns/Tops/Circlets as it can ruin the silicone. If you need to make repairs for any reason etc, use silipoxy only.
-We suggest you storing all silicone in a dark, dry and flat place for best life expectancy.
